Barbara Loraine, founder and CEO of TLC Clean

TLC CleanI’m Barbara Loraine, founder and CEO of TLC Clean, positioned to be the next Oxi-Clean-type success story.  Branding, marketing and promotions are crucial to our success.  Chris Kavas is an important part of the team.  I highly recommend him.

There’s all kinds of help available for internet marketing. For most of us, it can cost a lot, or we can’t get the website, social media or other marketing stuff done.  But who can we count on to deliver results?  Who provides affordable help?

Chris gives customized training for small business people in what to do, and sent me the info on how to do it.  This saves me time and money – and helps me implement immediately.

No Business Plan = No Tax Benefits

We all must pay our share - the key is to ONLY pay your share

Maybe a better title is No business plan means your tax benefits may be taken away from you during an audit.  No matter how you slice it, any home business without a good business plan can and has been considered a “hobby” by the IRS.

There are even cases where this has gone to court and the judge has sided with the IRS that their home business was just a hobby and did not qualify for any tax benefits.

This means that if you have been good about taking full advantage of all the tax benefits afforded to home  business owners without the proper documentation, you are sitting on a fiscal time bomb.

Rod Cook Explains Why You Shouldn’t Worry About Economic Recessions

If there’s one thing that can be said to symbolize today’s society, it is the expectation of instant gratification. We want what we want, and we want it now. We have cars that drive over two hundred miles per hour, jets that break the sound barrier and rockets that go into outer space. We are constantly expanding our horizons, stretching our capabilities beyond the bounds of human comprehension, and pushing into unknown territory with each breath we take.

It’s never occurred to us that we’re not intended to do most of the things we do in the name of progress. If you had asked our ancestors two hundred years ago if we would ever go into space, they would have told you that if God had intended for us to fly he’d have given us wings. Yet here we are. We’ve accomplished the impossible, and rather than being satisfied with that we push ourselves harder to accomplish the impossible faster and more spectacularly than ever before.

A mountain is climbed one step at a time

Everyone who got where they are had to begin where they were.

Your opportunity for success is right in front of you.

To attain success or to reach your goal, don’t worry about having all the answers in advance.

You just need to have a clear idea of your goal and move toward it.

Don’t procrastinate when faced with a difficult problem.

Break your problems into parts and handle one part at a time.

Develop a tendency toward action.

You can make something happen today.

Break your big plan for success into small steps and take the first step right away.

Success starts with a first step.

Here are some gems from the late, great Mitch Hedberg

  • I called the hotel operator and she said, “How can I direct your call?” I said, “Well, you could say ‘Action!’, and I’ll begin to dial. And when I say ‘Goodbye’, then you can yell ‘Cut!’”
  • I like cottage cheese. That’s why I want to try other dwelling cheeses, too. How about studio apartment cheese? Tent cheese? Mobile home cheese? Do not eat mobile home cheese in a tornado.
  • I went to a restaurant, and I saw a guy wearing a leather jacket, eating a hamburger, drinking a glass of milk. I said, “Dude, you are a cow. The metamorphosis is complete. Don’t fall asleep or I will tip you over!”

Always be prepared for success

There is no shortage of opportunity.

Everyday you’re presented with countless opportunities to be, or do whatever you desire.

Luck is a matter of preparation meeting opportunity.

Don’t miss out on an opportunity because you’re not prepared.
