When you stop dreaming you stop living

If you want to enlarge your life, you must first enlarge your thought of it and yourself.

Hold the image of yourself as you long to be, the image of what you long to obtain, the image of health, efficiency and success.

Look at things as they can be

Your range of available choices right now has no limits.

The only limits you have are in your mind.

You’ve got it in you to succeed.

Just make up your mind and stick with it.

Leadership is action not position

All successful people became successful, because they gave some talent or ability in the service of others.

You can contribute in some way to others, no matter how small your talent.

No Business Plan = No Tax Benefits

We all must pay our share - the key is to ONLY pay your share

Maybe a better title is No business plan means your tax benefits may be taken away from you during an audit.  No matter how you slice it, any home business without a good business plan can and has been considered a “hobby” by the IRS.

There are even cases where this has gone to court and the judge has sided with the IRS that their home business was just a hobby and did not qualify for any tax benefits.

This means that if you have been good about taking full advantage of all the tax benefits afforded to home  business owners without the proper documentation, you are sitting on a fiscal time bomb.

Are Facebook’s Privacy Settings A Joke?

Let me start by saying that if you are going to stay safe online, never enter or post any data in social media that you would not want discussed on national news.

Recently Facebook changed their privacy settings making it harder to limit your posts to specific people.  That got a lot of people angry but the reality is that any company can change their rules at any time and your only recourse of action is to stop using it.  When you consider the size and scope of Facebook it is easy to see how most will simply shrug their shoulders and move on – social media is addictive and most are not going to stop posting regardless of the privacy rules.

July 4th Trivia!

America’s Birthday is also celebrated in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and England. In Denmark, where people listen to songs and speeches about the friendship between the United States and Denmark, the celebration is known as ‘Rebildfest.’

Delaware’s delegation to the Continental Congress put a unanimous endorsement of the Declaration at risk. Delaware delegate George Read was adamantly opposed to the Declaration (many still harbored an affinity for Great Britain and others feared for their careers and the fate of their families), while fellow Delawarians Thomas McKean and Caesar Rodney favored its adoption. Yet it appeared that Rodney, who was suffering from terminal cancer, might arrive in Philadelphia a day too late to break the Delaware delegation’s deadlock. However, the insistent Rodney rode all night through darkness, lightning, and thunder to arrive just in time to cast his affirmative vote, without which the Declaration would not have been unanimous.

Even More Bad Puns

Just when you thought it was safe to go back to reading blogs along comes yet another post filled with truly awful jokes, puns and one-liners.  If it helps, think of this as a “health and wellness” page since laughing is so important to feeling great!  Enjoy

Punny One Liners:

  • When an agnostic dies, does he go to the “great perhaps”?
  • Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour?
  • Do you think Houdini ever locked his keys in his car?
  • Can atheists get insurance for acts of God?
  • If the #2 pencil is the most popular, why is it still #2
  • If time heals all wounds, how come the belly button stays the same?
